PROJECT OVERVIEW

Context & Objectives

The Context

Client is a home-based baker who wanted a simple website to feature her work, show a clear menu, and provide straightforward ways to reach out for custom orders.

Scope was intentionally minimal: thoughtful page layout, consistent branding, and easy content updates—no e-commerce or complex backend.

OBJECTIVES & CONSTRAINTS

  • Create a lightweight, mobile-friendly showcase for treats and custom bakes.
  • Publish clear pages: About, Menu, Creations (gallery), and Contact.
  • Provide an accessible contact form so visitors can request custom orders.
  • Add basic on-page SEO (titles, meta, headings, open graph).

My Responsibilities

Visual layout and page structure (WordPress block editor)

Theme configuration, menus, and templates (no custom backend)

Light performance passes: image sizing, lazy-loading, minimal plugins

Form hardening (spam protection), privacy and accessibility basics

OUTCOMES

Results & Impact

  • No unnecessary plugins → low maintenance footprint.
WORKING PROCESS

Challenge of this Case

Started with a lightweight WordPress theme, customized typography/color, and structured the site into four essentials: Home, About, Menu, and Contact.

Kept plugins minimal, optimized images, and used semantic headings for simple SEO. The contact form routes inquiries to email—no checkout or account system.

  • Easy updates without needing a developer

Lessons Learned & Next Steps

For simple service sites, clear content hierarchy and photos matter more than extra features.

Keeping plugins lean reduces maintenance and improves stability.

Image discipline (sizes/compression) makes small sites feel fast on mobile.

A single, obvious contact path converts better than multiple competing CTAs.
