Privacy Notice

Last updated:

This notice explains what personal information CodeKodex collects through codekodex.com, why we collect it, what we do with it and the choices you have. If anything here is unclear, email us at codekodexofficial@gmail.com.

Who we are

CodeKodex (“we”, “us”) is responsible for the personal information collected through this website. You can contact us about privacy at codekodexofficial@gmail.com.

What we collect

When you send us an enquiry

Our contact forms ask for:

  • your name and email address, and your message (required);
  • optionally, your phone number, company name, the service you’re interested in, project type, website address, budget range and timeline (the fields vary by form);
  • if you use the form on an article, which article you were reading.

Technical information

  • When you submit a form, we briefly use your IP address to stop spam (we limit how many messages one address can send). It’s held in server memory only and isn’t saved.
  • Our hosting provider, Vercel, processes standard request information (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver the website and keep it secure.

How we use your enquiry

We use what you send us to reply to you and to discuss your project. When you submit a form, your enquiry is emailed to our team inbox and we send you a confirmation email. We don’t add you to a mailing list, we don’t sell your information, and we don’t use it for anything else.

Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries, and taking steps you’ve asked for before we agree any work together.

Where your enquiry is stored and for how long

Enquiries aren’t saved in a database on this website. They’re delivered by email through our email provider and kept in our mailbox. We keep enquiry emails for as long as we need them to respond to you and to manage any work that follows, and then delete them. You can ask us to delete yours sooner at any time.

Analytics and cookies

Google Analytics 4

We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used: pages viewed, approximate location (country or city), device and browser type, how you arrived, and events such as a form being submitted. The contents of a form are never sent to Google Analytics. Google Analytics sets the cookies _ga and _ga_*, which last up to two years. Google processes this information on our behalf, which may involve transfers outside the UK. You can block these cookies in your browser settings or use Google’s opt-out add-on.

Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights

Vercel Web Analytics gives us aggregated page-view counts, and Speed Insights measures how quickly pages load. Neither sets cookies or tracks you across other websites.

Browser storage (not cookies)

  • After you submit a form, a short-lived flag is kept in your browser’s session storage so the thank-you page can open. It’s removed as soon as that page reads it.
  • Our own team can set a flag in their browser’s local storage so their visits are marked as internal in analytics. This doesn’t apply to visitors.

We don’t use advertising cookies.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and object to or restrict how we use it. Email codekodexofficial@gmail.com and we’ll respond within one business day to acknowledge your request. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this notice

We’ll update this notice if what we collect or how we use it changes, and change the date at the top. Questions? Get in touch.
